Why Love Evades You

You approach love passively and like a fantasy. From your point of view, love serves you. You believe love is about being served, romanced, and then repeat. Love as an action is something you can understand, but rarely do you envision yourself performing the action. When one scrolls down your news feed on your favorite social media vice, the self-serving imagery of what someone else is supposed to do to make you happy is visible.

You evaluate an individual’s worth based on who provides you with the most, not realizing that the suitor’s best and most often used disguise is the charming giver. You suffer countless heartbreaks from individuals who promise it all and intend to give none of it. They, like you, are looking for their fantasy. Their fake charm and empty flattery appear like your dream before they reappear as your nightmare. Your refusal to prioritize good character and solid morals over being serviced through the prism of your fantasy explain why love continues to evade you.

Between each heartbreak, you return to your crazed fantasy state, posting imagery of the love-inspired actions you wish to receive. Rarely do you post anything that solely represents the kind of love you intend to give; it is all me me me, and yet you wonder, why does love evade you? Imagine if you let go of the imagery, stepped into reality, and learned first what it means to love someone unconditionally. When you choose the right one for the right reasons, you do not have to worry about what you are getting.

Unfortunately, this message will likely go unheard. You will continue to pursue love with a strategy no more productive than crabs trying to climb out of a bucket. One by one, they continue to crawl on top of each other to no avail. Like you, their commitment to their self-interest will show that tomorrow neither they nor you will make any more progress than the day before. However, in your case, at least now you can say know why love evades you.
